RPCL-NORINCO Intl. Power Limited (RNPL)

RPCL-NORINCO Intl. Power Limited (RNPL) is a joint venture company between the state-owned Rural Power Company Limited (RPCL) of Bangladesh and the Chinese state-owned NORINCO International Cooperation Limited. Its primary business is power generation in Bangladesh.

• Formation: RNPL was formed on December 21, 2017, as a private limited company with a 50:50 partnership to implement a major power project in Bangladesh.
• Major Project: The company's main initiative is the development and operation of the Patuakhali 1320 MW Coal Fired Thermal Power Plant.
• Location: The power plant project is located at Kalapara Upazila in the Patuakhali District of Bangladesh, near the Payra seaport. Its corporate office is in Dhaka.
• Objective: The goal is to generate affordable electricity using ultra-supercritical technology to help bring all citizens of Bangladesh under the electricity network.
