Grameenphone

Grameenphone Limited is the largest mobile telecommunications service provider in Bangladesh, offering a wide range of voice, data, and digital services to over 82 million subscribers. It is a joint venture between the Norwegian government-owned Telenor and Bangladeshi Grameen Telecom.

Grameenphone, often abbreviated as GP, began operations in March 1997 and has built the largest cellular network in the country, covering nearly 99% of the population. As of November 2024, it is Bangladesh's most valuable company by market capitalization. The company is known for its focus on empowering societies through connectivity, starting with its "Village Phone" program aimed at rural populations.
